Mikhail Haramati focuses on decarbonizing the cement, steel, and concrete supply chains. Previously, she led the development of embodied carbon policy for the New York State Energy Research & Development Authority (NYSERDA), where she co-authored the embodied carbon guidance for Executive Order 22 and the Low Carbon Concrete guidance. Prior work centered around decarbonizing the buildings sector through the development of NYSERDA’s Carbon Neutral Buildings Roadmap. She also previously led the building efficiency research group at the California Energy Commission and funded innovative technologies to reduce the energy use of buildings. She has held positions with the California Public Utilities Commission, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, and as an evaluation consultant. Haramati holds a master’s degree in public policy in energy from the University of California, Berkeley. She is based in New York City.
