Environmental Entrepreneurs
About E2 | How to Join E2 | More About E2 at www.e2.orgABOUT E2
Environmental Entrepreneurs (E2) is a national community of professionals and business people who believe in protecting the environment while building economic prosperity. We serve as a champion on the economic side of good environmental policy by taking a reasoned, economically sound approach to environmental issues. Through our support of the Natural Resources Defense Council, E2 works to influence state and national environmental policy.
Joining Environmental Entrepreneurs is a time-efficient way to leverage your professional network and skills to help the Natural Resources Defense Council and its work to create a cleaner, more sustainable environment. Through activities in New York, the San Francisco Bay area and Southern California, we bring together business and professional leaders committed to strong environmental stewardship, and foster new collaborations among the environmental, business and technology communities. You can invest as much or as little time as you'd like and still have a significant positive impact on environmental protections.
We believe that forward-thinking business people recognize that good environmental policy is also good for the economy.
If this is your philosophy, we very much hope you'll consider joining E2. To learn more about E2, please send an email with your contact information to E2@nrdc.org.
What is the Natural Resources Defense Council?
NRDC is one of the most effective environmental protection organizations working today. Throughout its 30-year history, NRDC has made tangible progress on clean air and water, viable forests and fisheries, and more recently, climatic stability. Through the courts and Congress, NRDC's staff has successfully fought to build and defend the most powerful framework of environmental laws in the world. They comprise some of the country's most well respected environmental lawyers, scientists and policy analysts, with expertise in many fields including toxics, energy, marine biology and nuclear proliferation. Through strategic and efficient leadership, NRDC has the resources and the talent to ensure a strong, ongoing program of environmental advocacy.
What Environmental Entrepreneurs Offers
E2 membership gives you:
- Inside information about big-picture issues through top-level briefings, monthly issue-based email newsletters, quarterly presentations by environmental leaders and more;

What We Ask
Our guiding principal is to make efficient use of your time. We ask instead for your support in three forms:
- Financial: First and foremost, we look to members for financial support for the work accomplished by NRDC. We seek to raise $1 million annually. E2 membership is divided into four categories, each with special benefits. Steering Committee members contribute $25,000 annually or more; Principal members contribute $10,000 annually or more; and E2 Partners contribute $2,500 annually or more. The minimum membership required to join E2 is an Associate membership at $1,000 or more.
- Contacts: We ask members to help us grow by considering who among their network of associates and friends should be contacted to join E2.
- Skills: We ask those members who have the time and interest to provide business or technical advice for new or ongoing NRDC projects, and, most importantly, to become a unified political voice on environmental issues.
