ABOUT NRDC: ABOUT THE NRDC WEBSITE

First launched in June 1995 with just a few pages, NRDC's site now consists of hundreds upon hundreds of pages and features. We add new stories at least every week and generally more often than that. We also have a daily "newsfeed" where we feature breaking environmental news from national wire services.

NRDC's Green Building site is the winner of a 2006 Webby Award

We won't try to enumerate here the benefits of the Internet. But we will point out two once-unimaginable advantages it has given us in our work to protect the environment. It lets us make information widely and easily accessible -- information that helps convince people of the importance of protecting wildlife and wild places and ensuring a safe and healthy environment. And it allows us to provide action tools so you can help us achieve those goals.

We hope you'll take advantage of this wonderful resource by exploring the areas of the site that most appeal to you (we've tried to organize it so that's easy to do), and by visiting our action center and using it to make a difference.

Also, we recently redesigned the site! Please click here to read about the changes we've made, or check out our site map.
