Briana Mordick is a geologist who serves as a technical advisor on issues related to oil and natural gas extraction and geologic sequestration of carbon dioxide. This work includes the identification of regulatory solutions and industry best practices to address the environmental impacts of oil and natural gas extraction. Prior to joining NRDC, she worked for Anadarko Petroleum for six years as a petroleum geologist on projects including shale gas, tight gas sands, and CO2 enhanced oil recovery. She holds a B.A. in Earth Sciences from Boston University (2002) and an M.S. in Geological Sciences from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (2005).
