Matt Howes Online Communications Director, Communications Department

Bio

Matt Howes leads NRDC's online communications team. Using a metrics-driven approach, Matt works with issue experts and NRDC partners to weave together email, social media, and web content into compelling online initiatives. Matt has a long history of working in environmental and other progressive campaigns, most recently serving as director of online communications at Vice President Al Gore's Alliance for Climate Protection. He has also led online programs at Media Matters and the American Civil Liberties Union's (ACLU) legislative office. Matt has significant international experience, including more than a year in China working on sustainable development and four months in Denmark studying clean energy technologies. Matt graduated Tau Beta Pi from MIT with bachelor's and master's degrees in environmental engineering.
