Noah Horowitz is director of NRDC's center for energy efficiency and a senior scientist in NRDC's energy program. Since he began his work with NRDC in 1997, he has concentrated on numerous energy efficiency advances for consumers, including the development of energy efficient light bulbs, energy-saving "cool" roofs, and less wasteful TV's and DVRs. He is also an expert on green enterprise and has focused his research on collaborations with industry, mandatory codes and standards at the state and national levels, and voluntary programs.

Prior to joining NRDC in 1997, Noah was manager of environmental programs for the Quaker Oats Company. He holds a master's degree in environmental engineering from Illinois Institute of Technology and a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from Carnegie-Mellon University.
