Nature of the Sample

This survey was conducted June 12th through the 19th, 2001. 918 adults 18 years of age or older in New York City were interviewed by telephone. Telephone numbers were selected based on a complete list of telephone exchanges from throughout the city. The exchanges were selected to ensure that each borough was represented in proportion to its population. All interviews were conducted by telephone. The results are statistically significant at ±3.5% for the entire sample. The error margin increases for cross-tabulations.
