Litigation - This landmark settlement ends a ten-year lawsuit involving the Department of Energy's program to manage radioactive waste and the cleanup of environmental contamination caused by nuclear weapons production in the United States. As part of the settlement, the DoE agreed to provide a $6.25 million technical assistance fund for communities affected by the cleanup program and an Internet database for information on its progress.
