Polar Thaw: Global Warming in the Arctic and Antarctic
Photographs from 'World View of Global Warming' by Gary Braasch
|
The R/V Nathaniel B. Palmer icebreaker cruises the Antarctic Peninsula, collecting ocean floor sediment samples, which scientists use to build a record of ice shelf changes. These samples provide a 15,000-year history of climate shifts that help scientists understand the changes taking place today. Back to introduction | Next page All photos © Gary Braasch | ||||||
