I am student at {name of school} concerned about the 
amount of energy our school district uses, and the 
many harmful effects this energy use has on our 
environment.

It's important for all of our schools to use less 
energy. But we can also help by getting some of our 
energy from solar power instead of from fossil fuels. 
This would reduce the impact of our schools on the 
environment. It would also be great publicity for our 
district, and a project that would help make kids feel 
proud of their schools.

I would like to suggest that our district consider 
using solar energy in one or more forms: photovoltaic 
cells, passive solar or solar thermal. Many school 
districts around the country are installing these 
devices, often with financial assistance from the 
government and other sources.
