China's Greenest Building
A showcase for energy efficiency and sustainable design breaks new ground in the heart of Beijing.
A green building showcase
The building is currently home to two government policy agencies that are part of China's Ministry of Science and Technology. A Center for Excellence on the second floor provides a computer lab, resource library and exhibition space dedicated to the advancement of green building technology.
The building has become a model of sustainable design for builders all over Asia. In 2005, it won China's first ever Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) gold certification, the worldwide standard for building sustainability, as well as China's first Green Building Innovation Award.
