COPENHAGEN, Denmark (December 18, 2009) - President Obama addressed several hundred leaders and delegates Friday at the UN climate summit in Copenhagen.
Below is a response from Natural Resources Defense Council President Frances Beinecke, who is in Copenhagen as an observer:
"The president made clear he is here for one reason: to put Americans back to work reducing our reliance on foreign oil and creating a safer planet for people around the world. This speech was a call to action.
The president is rolling up his sleeves to hammer this out with other leaders. There's still time to reach a working agreement that meets the president's goals and strikes a blow against climate change."
