Environmental News: Media Center
WASHINGTON (February 10, 2011) -- House Republicans are expected today to unveil their continuing resolution, a seven-month spending bill that will include about $1.6 billion in cuts to the Environmental Protection Agency.
The following is a statement by Wesley Warren, director of programs at the Natural Resources Defense Council:
”Cutting the federal budget shouldn’t put our health at risk. The House Republican proposal is a political attack supported by Big Polluters who will continue feeding from the public trough while everybody else is being asked to sacrifice. A responsible budget would embrace a clean energy future that spurs the economy, creates jobs and continues to improve our environment.”’
