NRDC Stands Ready to Help President Obama Combat Climate Change
Power Plants Are Our Biggest Source of Dangerous Carbon Pollution

Washington (June 22, 2013) -- The following is a statement from Frances Beinecke, president of the Natural Resources Defense Council, following President Obama's announcement this afternoon that he will issue a plan on Tuesday to combat climate change.

"Combating climate change means curbing carbon pollution -- for the first time ever -- from the biggest single source of such dangerous gases: our coal-fired power plants. We stand ready to help President Obama in every way we can."
