KAREN GARRISON is a senior policy analyst with NRDC's water and oceans program and co-director of its ocean initiative. Karen has co-written several reports on fisheries and western water issues. She is a leader in West Coast efforts to improve fishery management and strengthen protection for ocean ecosystems through state legislation, administrative advocacy and citizen action. She holds a master's degree from the University of California at Berkeley's Energy and Resources Group.

NOAH GARRISON is a project attorney with the coastal water project in Los Angeles. His work focuses on improving water quality in California through enforcement of the Clean Water Act and related coastal laws. Noah is a graduate of the UCLA School of Law, and holds a master's degree in geological sciences from the University of California, Santa Barbara and a bachelor's degree in earth and environmental sciences from Wesleyan University.

DAN GILDOR is a project attorney in the Los Angeles urban program. His work focuses on enhancing water quality in California, with an emphasis on Orange County and Newport Bay. Before joining NRDC, he clerked for the Honorable Barbara Jacobs Rothstein in the Western District of Washington. Dan has a law degree with an environmental certificate from the University of California at Berkeley School of Law, a master's degree in political science from Stanford University and a bachelor's degree in political science from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

DAVID B. GOLDSTEIN is co-director of NRDC's energy program and has worked on energy efficiency and policy since the early 1970s. In 2002, the MacArthur Foundation recognized his achievement in the field by awarding him one of its prestigious five-year fellowships. David has been instrumental in the development of energy efficiency standards for new buildings and appliances at the regional and national level, both in the United States and in Russia. He negotiated the agreement that led to the National Appliance Energy Conservation Act of 1987, and has helped design and direct energy efficiency programs with utilities and state regulatory agencies. He also created the Location Efficient Mortgage, a program designed to reduce urban sprawl and car use. He was a founding director of the Consortium for Energy Efficiency and the New Buildings Institute and is a fellow of the American Physical Society, as well as a recipient of its Leo Szilard Award for Physics in the Public Interest. David earned his doctorate in physics from the University of California at Berkeley.

ERIC A. GOLDSTEIN is a senior attorney in the New York office and co-director of NRDC's urban program. He has worked for more than two decades on urban environmental issues, including air pollution, solid waste, drinking water and environmental justice. Eric gained nationwide attention in the early 1980s for spearheading the public campaign to get lead out of gasoline. He is co-author of The New York Environment Book and co-teaches the environmental law clinic at New York University School of Law.

MICHAEL GOO is the climate legislative director for NRDC's climate center. Michael's advocacy work focuses on enacting strong federal legislation to combat global warming. Prior to joining NRDC in 2007, Michael served as counsel to the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee and to the House Energy and Commerce Committee, with primary responsibility for matters related to climate change and clean air. Michael is a graduate of the Washington University School of Law and Vassar College.

TIM GRABIEL is an attorney for the environmental justice project in NRDC's Los Angeles office, addressing the disproportionate burden of environmental degradation and unequal distribution of environmental benefits to low-income and minority communities. Prior to joining NRDC, Tim worked as an organizer and attorney at Make the Road by Walking, a community-based organization in New York City, focusing on environmental justice and housing issues. He is a graduate of New York University School of Law.

NATHANAEL GREENE is a senior energy policy specialist working on issues including utility regulation, renewables, energy taxes and energy efficiency. He has particular expertise in biofuels, biopower, wind and small, clean-generating technologies such as fuel cells, as well as the state and federal regulations and policies to promote these technologies. Nathanael received a bachelor's degree in public policy from Brown University and a master's in energy and resources from the University of California at Berkeley.

LINDA GREER is a senior scientist and director of NRDC's health program. She specializes in issues related to toxic chemical pollution, including mercury. Linda is also involved in the EPA's framework for evaluating health impacts of toxic chemicals, particularly carcinogens. She is the author of numerous technical and policy articles on environmental matters, and she has frequently testified before Congress. She sits on the EPA Science Advisory Board as well as the National Academy of Sciences Committee on Emerging Toxic Chemical Issues. Linda received her doctorate in environmental toxicology from the University of Maryland and her master's degree in environmental sciences and engineering from University of North Carolina's School of Public Health.

KRISTIN GRENFELL is a project attorney with the energy program. She works on implementing California's landmark Global Warming Solutions Act through advocacy before relevant state agencies, bringing together a diverse group of stakeholders and conducting legal research. She graduated with honors from the Duke University School of Law while concurrently earning a master's degree in environmental management from Duke's Nicholas School of the Environment. She also holds a bachelor's degree in science, technology and society with interdisciplinary honors in environmental science and technology policy from Stanford University.

ASHOK GUPTA is a senior energy economist and director of NRDC's air and energy program. He specializes in electric utility restructuring, climate change, energy efficiency, renewables, transportation policy and sustainable building design. Prior to joining NRDC in 1991, Ashok worked with New York City's Department of Telecommunications and Energy. He also serves on the boards of Northeast Energy Efficiency Partnership, Hudson River Foundation, Cool Air-Cool Planet, Coalition for Environmentally Responsible Economies, U.S. Green Building Council-NY, Citizens Union Foundation and Low Impact Hydropower Institute. He has a bachelor's degree in physics and math from Georgetown University and a master's degree in economics from American University. He received Environmental Advocates' 2001 Advocate Award for leadership in support of clean air and energy and in 2003 was named the Environmental Professional of the Year by the Association of Energy Engineers.
