Given the vast resources of commercial news sources on the Internet (e.g., wire services, newspapers, magazines, journals), this section is limited to official news sources, where announcements from federal agencies and officials are posted online. The best single source of current releases and government information relating to foreign affairs is the Washington File maintained by the U.S. Information Agency for its posts overseas, and consisting of articles by USIA correspondents, texts of speeches, and transcripts of news briefings.
