Cecilia Segal’s work has focused on challenging unlawful approvals of dirty fossil fuel projects, such as the Willow project and Keystone XL pipeline; defending against attempted rollbacks of federal environmental and public-health regulations; and protecting communities in Pittsburgh, PA, from lead-contaminated drinking water. Prior to joining NRDC, Segal clerked for Judge Christopher F. Droney on the Second Circuit Court of Appeals. She holds a bachelor's degree in political science from Tufts University and a JD from Harvard Law School, where she served as managing editor of the Harvard Environmental Law Review. Segal is based in NRDC's San Francisco office.
