Pete Huffman

Senior Attorney, Climate & Energy

Pete Huffman litigates cases to protect the climate and advocates for policy efforts to cut carbon pollution and other greenhouse gas emissions that are fueling climate change. He previously clerked for Judge Henry F. Floyd of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, served as counsel to the Judiciary of Palau, and worked as a litigation associate at Sullivan & Cromwell LLP. Prior to embarking on a legal career, Huffman served as a naval officer, including a tour as an engineering officer aboard a U.S. Navy aircraft carrier. He holds a bachelor's degree in chemistry from the U.S. Naval Academy and a J.D. from Yale Law School. He is based in NRDC's Washington, D.C., office.
