One More Week to Voice Your Support for Solar in New York

Thanks to fateful winter sun on the morning of Feb 2nd, Staten Island Chuck's "six more weeks of winter forecast" is proving to be a painful truth this year. More snow, ice and bone-chilling temperatures in the forecast, again.

Maybe we ought to play it safe next year when Chuck goes outside. He could simply remain behind the shade of a solar panel array. A win-win for all, right?  Truth is, he’ll have plenty of solar arrays to choose from with New York City’s first solar farm going up soon near his Staten Island Zoo home at the Island’s Fresh Kills Park -- one of many more solar projects to come if we extend Gov. Cuomo's successful NY-Sun Initiative.

Now is your chance to voice your support for dramatically more solar in New York by sending a letter here (from our friends at Vote Solar) to the New York State Public Service Commission. Let's tell the Commission that we want to extend the NY-Sun Initiative for a full ten years to build New York’s solar industry into a national powerhouse, bringing good jobs, less pollution and lower energy costs with it.

What are you waiting for? Just one week remains (public comment period closes Monday, March 3rd) to tell New York energy policymakers that we want more solar in New York. Sunny thoughts to help you get through the remaining three weeks of winter according to Chuck!
