Courtenay Lewis advocates for policy solutions in Canada that benefit communities, species, and the larger ecosystems that support them. Prior to working at NRDC, Lewis promoted sustainable international policies at the Sierra Club, focusing on trade policy and curbing fossil fuel expansion. She also worked in President Obama’s administration as a special assistant at the U.S. Department of the Interior as well as as a community organizer in the 2008 Obama presidential campaign. She has a master’s degree in environmental change and management from the University of Oxford. She is based in Washington, D.C.
