Top House Democrats Vow ‘’Bold’’ Plan to Combat Climate Change

WASHINGTON  – Top House Democrats—led by chairman Frank Pallone of the Energy and Commerce Committee, chairman Paul Tonko of the Environment and Climate Change Subcommittee, and chairman Bobby Rush of the Energy Subcommittee—today vowed to enact a “bold” plan to combat climate change.

The following is a statement from John Bowman, managing director for government affairs at the Natural Resources Defense Council:

“Amid President Trump’s dangerous denial and retreat on climate change, House leaders are setting bold goals to protect our children and grandchildren from climate catastrophe. Reaching 100 percent clean energy and zero net carbon pollution by 2050 must be the guidepost for every energy, environmental, and economic policy decision we make over the next 30 years.”
