Sec. Perry Said to Be Leaving Trump Administration
WASHINGTON – Energy Secretary Rick Perry is planning to resign from the Trump administration later this year, according to news reports today.
The following is a statement from John Bowman, managing director for government relations at the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC):
“There’s no dancing around it, Rick Perry tried to prop up the most polluting energy sources and stall important efficiency standards and clean-energy research. Thankfully, most of his worst proposals flopped.
“The next secretary of energy must understand everything that the department does. That includes a commitment to cleaning up the radioactive waste from the Cold War and spurring the necessary innovation to help us address climate change.”
