Governor Murphy Announces Sweeping Climate Agenda for New Jersey

TRENTON, N.J. – Governor Phil Murphy today unveiled New Jersey’s Energy Master Plan, which will put the state on the pathway to a 100 percent clean energy future by 2050. In addition, Governor Murphy announced an executive order to create nation-leading regulations that make climate impacts an integral part of land-use planning in the state.

A statement follows from Eric Miller, New Jersey Policy Director at the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC):

“The sweeping Energy Master Plan is a gigantic step forward that will chart an ambitious pathway forward for New Jersey’s clean energy future. These actions show that we can provide affordable clean power to our homes and businesses, create thousands of good-paying jobs and fight climate pollution all at the same time. Governor Murphy is proving that New Jersey can be at the forefront of national leadership in the fight against the climate crisis.”
