Legislative Director, Nature Program
Alexandra Adams, who focuses on congressional and administrative actions that affect the oceans, is currently promoting federal efforts to protect and restore ocean health. Her work includes developing strategies to prevent risky offshore oil and gas development, addressing the impacts of ocean acidification, designing initiatives to rebuild and sustain our nation’s fisheries, and supporting regional ocean planning. Prior to joining NRDC, Adams held positions at national and regional conservation organizations focusing on climate change adaptation, endangered species, and water resources. She graduated from the University of Florida and received a master’s degree in environmental studies from Brown University. She is based in Washington, D.C.
