60,000 People Urge Secretary Kerry to Secure a Global Agreement to Reduce Aviation's Carbon Pollution

Over the past week, more than 60,000 people in the U.S. have sent a letter to Secretary Kerry urging him to help secure a global agreement to reduce aviation’s growing carbon pollution. The members and activists from NRDC joined with Earthjustice, Center for Biological Diversity, and Environmental Defense Fund in sending a simple message to Secretary Kerry: help secure a global agreement to reduce aviation's carbon pollution. It isn’t too late to help reduce the growing carbon pollution from aviation.

Here is our action alert:

Thanks to all that joined in this message. We’ll keep up the pressure as countries negotiate an agreement to reduce aviation’s carbon pollution. Time is short as the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO)  meets this September to decide on such an agreement. Will countries make a serious dent in reducing global warming pollution or will they punt as ICAO has done for the past 15 years?

I hope Secretary Kerry listens to this strong call from 60,000 people throughout the U.S. Secretary Kerry: it isn’t too late to help secure a global agreement to reduce aviation’s growing carbon pollution.
