City Strategy Advisor, American Cities Climate Challenge
Maria Ortiz provides strategic support to cities participating in ACCC and develops the community of learning between cities as they quickly move forward on their portfolio of hard-charging climate change policies. Ortiz is a Mexico City native and joined NRDC from 100 Resilient Cities. She also spent three years in New York City's Department of Sanitation. She holds a master's in environmental management from the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies and a master of science in urban informatics from New York University's Center for Urban Science & Progress. She is based in NRDC's New York office.
