Danish Report on Offshore Wind

Here‚ the link to a report just put out by the Danish Energy Authority that summarizes five years of environmental monitoring at Nysted and Horns Rev offshore wind projects. These are the largest and oldest offshore wind projects in the world (not really saying much at this point). The report has been reviewed by an international advisory panel of experts on marine ecology, who conclude ‚"[t]he studies have shown that the Nysted and Horns Rev offshore wind farms have had very little impact on the environment, neither during their construction nor during their operational phases.‚" But the details are very interesting — well worth a read.

Obviously, here in the US of A, it will be interesting to understand what these reports mean for proposed offshore wind projects such as the Cape Wind project in Nantucket Sound and the FPL project proposed for the south shore of Long Island.
