Statement by David Doniger, policy director of the Climate Center at the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC), on President Bush's Comments at the Meeting of Major Economies

"Today, President Bush addressed representatives from 17 countries responsible for 80 percent of the world’s global warming pollution. The president said ‘the moment is now’ to curb global warming. However, he let the moment go by without making any change in his dogged refusal to cap and reduce America’s global warming pollution. The president’s opposition to placing real limits on our own global warming pollution is the single biggest obstacle to making progress here at home or with other countries.”
