Court Decision a Win for Clean Air, Strong Economy and Healthier Future

WASHINGTON (December 10, 2010) -- A federal appeals court today upheld EPA authority to protect the public from the pollution that's driving climate change. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia turned back efforts by the state of Texas and some industries that sought to block the agency's ability to regulate carbon emissions and other greenhouse gases. David Doniger, policy director for the Climate Center at the Natural Resources Defense Council, made the following statement:

“This is a victory for every American who wants better gas mileage and cleaner cars and factories. It means cleaner air, a stronger economy and a healthier future for us all.”
