Governor Brown Appoints NRDC’s Felicia Marcus to the California State Water Resources Control Board

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. (May 10, 2012) – Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. today announced appointments to the California State Water Resources Control Board, including Felicia Marcus, Western Director of NRDC.

Following is a statement from Peter Lehner, executive director of NRDC:

“Gov. Brown could not have appointed a better qualified attorney than Felicia Marcus to the State Water Resources Control Board.  Water underlies so much of the life and economy of California and wise water policy can keep California thriving in the years to come.”

“Felicia has a well-deserved reputation for fairness and creative problem solving. We at NRDC have had the pleasure of working with her to expand our public health and environmental stewardship efforts in the West, and she has been an inspiring leader. She has an in-depth knowledge of water policy and years of experience working directly with people involved in this issue - water utilities, agricultural operators, municipalities, the fishing and environmental communities and more. Congratulations to Felicia. NRDC’s loss is the State of California’s gain.”
