Senate Leader Reid “A Giant” for Our Health and the Environment

WASHINGTON (March 27, 2015) – Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV), who has served in the Senate since 1987, announced today that he will retire when his current term expires in 2016.

David Goldston, director of government affairs at the Natural Resources Defense Council, issued the following statement in response:

“Sen. Reid has been a giant in the fight to protect health and the environment, and we will continue to rely on his tremendous leadership for the rest of this Congress. Nothing has been more reassuring than to have Sen. Reid in the congressional boxing ring when health and the environment are at stake.”
