Sen. Capito’s Bid to Kill Clean Power Plan Must be Stopped

WASHINGTON (May 13, 2015) -- Of all the legislative attempts to thwart President Obama's historic Clean Power Plan, none is more brazen or potentially dangerous than the bill introduced today by Sen. Shelley Moore  Capito (R.W.Va.)

The following is a statement by David Doniger, director of the climate and clean air program at the Natural Resources Defense Council:

''This bill is a big polluters' wish list, designed to kill the first-ever plan to limit carbon pollution from our power plants, the primary driver of climate change. It also would eviscerate key parts of the Clean Air Act -- one of the most successful public health laws in the history of our country. This special interest bill must be stopped.''
