EPA's Pruitt Outs Himself as Climate Denier

WASHINGTON -- Scott Pruitt, administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency, today made a flat-out untrue statement, claiming that carbon dioxide generated by human activity is not the primary cause of climate change.

The following is a statement by David Doniger, director of the Climate and Clean Air Program at the Natural Resources Defense Council:

"The mask is off. After obscuring his true views during his Senate confirmation hearings, Scott Pruitt has outed himself as a pure climate denier. Having an EPA administrator who claims carbon pollution is not the primary cause of climate change is like having a  U.S. surgeon general who says smoking is not the primary cause of lung cancer.''
