WASHINGTON - The Virginia Air Pollution Control Board today delayed, for the second time, its decision on an air pollution permit that Dominion Energy needs to build a gas compressor station in Union Hill for its proposed Atlantic Coast Pipeline, raising further questions about the troubled project.

Walton Shepherd, Virginia Policy Director at the Natural Resources Defense Council, made this comment:

“Today’s delay shows the Air Board is seriously considering this troubled project’s environmental injustices and potential health impacts for the people of Union Hill. When all the analysis is done, the decision must be to reject the permit for Dominion’s compressor station. Its multi-billion dollar pipeline project is risky, unwanted, unneeded and, if built, would cost Virginians far more than they can afford.”
