Congress votes to ban plastic microbeads in personal care products.

The tiny plastic particles, added to scrubs, toothpaste, and more, persist in the environment and are often eaten by unsuspecting fish and wildlife. The Senate and House both approved a bill to start phasing out the bitty beads in 2017. Next stop for the legislation: President Obama’s desk. CBS
