Letter Opposing H.R. 1599, the Improperly Named “Safe and Accurate Food Labeling Act of 2015”

This letter opposes HR 1599, a bill also referred to as the Deny Americans the Right to Know Act, which would deny consumers the right to know what is in their food and how it's grown. It would preempt state laws that require disclosure of genetically modified organisms (GMOs) in food, as well as state laws ensuring that consumers are not misled by deceptive "natural" claims on foods, including laws having nothing to do with GMOs.
