Nations seek deal to phase out hydrofluorocarbons

HFCs were introduced in the 1980s as a replacement for CFCs (which deplete the ozone layer) in products like refrigerators and air conditioners. But HFCs ARE harmful in a different way—they're really potent greenhouse gases.
