A strong public charging system is needed to support robust electric vehicle (EV) use. Planning for public charging infrastructure is essentially answering where and how many of chargers should be placed in the planning area. It is also important to consider the type of chargers installed. This issue brief focuses on the “where” part, i.e. the siting of charging infrastructure. It provides decision-makers and stakeholders with information on the principles of how to choose an appropriate location for the EV charging infrastructure.
