NRDC’s Comments to the New Jersey Senate Environment Committee in Support of Senate Bill 1016

Testimony
April 07, 2020

The testimony gives an overview of the impacts of neonicotinoid insecticides (“neonics”) on bees and other pollinators, birds, and aquatic ecosystems. It also summarizes research that raises concerns about the human health impacts of widespread exposure. The testimony was submitted to the Committee on February 24, 2020, in support of S1016, which would impose a ban on non-agricultural uses of neonics. These non-agricultural uses are a primary driver of widespread environmental contamination in New Jersey.
