Polluter shill resigns from the EPA after one month

EPA antagonist David Schnare, a former career employee who recently returned to the agency as a political appointee under the Trump administration, is gone again. Schnare reportedly resigned abruptly, alluding to infighting among senior officials: “The backstory to my resignation is extremely complex. I will be writing about it myself. It is a story not about me but about a much more interesting set of events involving misuse of federal funds, failure to honor oaths of office, and a lack of loyalty to the president.” During his long career as a lawyer and policy analyst at the EPA, Schnare simultaneously ran a conservative think tank that worked to undermine the agency’s mission. He also cofounded another fossil fuel–funded organization, which launched a series of lawsuits against the agency and harassed climate scientists.
