The rusty patched bumblebee gets its endangered status after all

The Trump administration has reversed course on its illegal decision to freeze the listing of the rusty patched bumblebee as an endangered species. The bee, an essential pollinator for native plants, has lost 90 percent of its habitat in the past 20 years. Last month, NRDC filed suit when the administration halted the bee’s federal protection, without which experts feared it would face extinction. Now the Trump administration has allowed it to become the first bumblebee ever listed under the Endangered Species Act.
