Trump administration plans to privatize parks

What do you do when you cut funding to public lands? Well, if you are U.S. Department of the Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke, the answer is, you privatize large parts of the National Park Service. Zinke announced the government’s plan to “have more public-private partnerships,” which means private companies will be running public lands. The dramatic shift in position comes in the wake of President Trump's budget request that proposes a $360 million cut for the National Park Service. Perhaps Zinke (who once stated, “I don’t want to be in the business of running campgrounds”) should have done more research on his job before accepting the position.
