Trump bails on G7 summit before the world leaders discuss climate and the environment

President Trump’s dramatic (and nationally embarrassing) appearance at the Group of 7 summit this weekend stunned the world. In addition to further isolating the United States from its longstanding allies on issues such as trade, Trump also left the meeting before the planned discussions on cleaning up the oceans and halting global warming. Past G7 summits have ended with renewed calls for climate action. That, alas, was the past.
