Trump team asks how much money State Department gives international environmental groups

A list of questions sent to the department’s Bureau of Oceans and International Environmental and Scientific Affairs included this one: “How much does the Department of State contribute annually to international environmental organizations in which the department participates?” Under President Obama, the State Department supported international initiatives to cut greenhouse gas emissions linked to climate change—most notably, leading the administration’s efforts to seal the 2015 Paris climate agreement.
