Urge the Obama administration to help save Coal River Mountain
Mountaintop removal strip mining has leveled hundreds of Appalachian peaks, leaving scarred landscapes, polluted water and impoverished communities behind, and now the last remaining mountain in West Virginia's Coal River valley is in danger. Send a message right away urging the Obama administration to immediately halt the blasting on Coal River Mountain.
Tell your senators to pass a strong climate and energy bill now
In June the House of Representatives passed a landmark bill to reduce global warming pollution, build a clean energy economy and reduce our dependence on foreign oil. Now it is up to the Senate to strengthen and pass a similar bill. Urge your senators to support strong climate and energy legislation.

Californians: Tell state leaders to protect California's public health, water supply and critical marine areas
Tell California leaders to protect health and drinking water supplies by refusing to register methyl iodide. State officials are also accepting comments through November 9th for marine areas to be protected in southern California.

Tell the EPA not to let a massive limestone mining project ruin the Everglades
The Everglades wetlands ecosystem has already been devastated by a century of destructive human activity, and yet still the Army Corps of Engineers is seeking to convert wetlands to mining pits. Tell the EPA to protect the Everglades and public water supplies.

Tell President Obama to halt logging and other destruction in our wild national forests
Without immediate action by the Obama administration, pristine swaths of Alaska's Tongass National Forest are set be auctioned away for commercial logging as early as this fall. Urge President Obama to uphold crucial protections for our last, best national forest lands.

Tell President Obama to protect our oceans, coasts and Great Lakes
Like the Clean Air Act for our air, and the Clean Water Act for our water, we need a national policy for our oceans, coasts and Great Lakes. Tell President Obama to issue an executive order formally establishing a national policy to protect, maintain and restore the health of these natural resources.
Tell President Obama to help end whale and dolphin killings in Japan (and go see a movie!)
Although whaling was banned in 1986, almost 1,000 whales are killed in Japan each year, as well as an additional 23,000 dolphins and porpoises. A new movie, "The Cove," at last exposes this senseless slaughter to the public. Tell President Obama to stop negotiating a whaling deal with Japan and see "The Cove" and encourage your friends and family to see the film as well.
Tell Congress to close the "Halliburton Loophole" to protect drinking water from contamination
The "Halliburton Loophole" exempts hydraulic fracturing, an oil and gas production method that has been linked to water contamination, from Safe Drinking Water Act regulations. Urge your senators and representative to co-sponsor legislation to repeal the Halliburton Loophole.
Tell President Obama to urge the Senate to ratify the Law of the Sea
The Senate could soon decide whether the United States should sign on to the United Nations Law of the Sea treaty, which would expand protections for our planet's oceans. Urge President Obama to declare his support for swift Senate action to ratify the Law of the Sea treaty.
Tell your senators to save our waterways from uncontrolled pollution
The Clean Water Restoration Act would restore Clean Water Act protections to vital water bodies declared unprotected because of Supreme Court decisions. Tell your senators to co-sponsor the Clean Water Restoration Act.
Tell your senators to pass the Appalachia Restoration Act
The recently introduced bipartisan Appalachia Restoration Act would stop the destruction mountaintop removal mining causes to our environment and mining communities. Send a message urging your senators to support and vote Yes for the Appalachia Restoration Act.
Tell the Canadian government that tar sands mining is threatening North America's birds
Tar sands mining and drilling in Canada's boreal forest is destroying critical nesting areas for millions of birds. Tell the Canadian government to halt any expansion of this destructive practice.
Tell your representative to co-sponsor a national Healthy Oceans Act
Oceans are essential to our way of life, but below the surface they are threatened by global warming and habitat degradation. Tell your representative to co-sponsor Oceans-21, the Oceans Conservation, Education and National Strategy for the 21st Century Act.
Urge the Department of Agriculture to act now to save bees
Although honey bees are crucial to producing about one-third of all the food we eat, the Department of Agriculture has failed to meet crucial research needs to determine the cause of colony collapse disorder, which is devastating hives across the country. Urge the Department of Agriculture to act now to save bees.
Urge the Navy to stop harming whales with high-intensity sonar
Although the Navy agreed to limit its use of low-frequency sonar, it continues to blast the world's oceans with mid-frequency sonar, which can be just as harmful to whales and other marine mammals. Tell the Navy to turn off the noise.
