Natural gas infrastructure not ready to handle large increase in natural gas production in the long term

Rick Kessler is the Vice President of the Pipeline Safety Trust. He was recently interviewed on E&ETV about pipeline safety across the nation. He stated that our natural gas infrastructure is not ready to handle an increased flow of natural gas in the long run. He said "we might be able to get away with something initially, but without further resources, extensive resources and the tighter law, no, we're not ready."

In light of recent fatal and destructive explosions, it is essential that all aspects of the natural gas life cycle -- from exploration to production, transmission and processing-- are as safe and clean as we can make them.
