Erik Van de Stouwe

As part of NRDC’s Ocean team, Erik Van de Stouwe works to protect coastal communities and marine wildlife from threats posed by offshore mineral extraction. He also works to promote sustainable fisheries and defend protected habitats. Prior to joining NRDC, Van de Stouwe served as a trial attorney in both the Environment and Natural Resources Division of the U.S. Department of Justice and the Solicitor’s Office of the U.S. Department of Labor. Van de Stouwe has a bachelor’s degree from Tulane University and a JD from Brooklyn Law School. He clerked for the Honorable Arthur J. Tarnow of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. He is based in NRDC's Washington, D.C., office.
