Lauren Phillips has worked on cases to hold polluters accountable, protect people and ecosystems from fossil fuel production, and ensure access to safe drinking water. Before joining NRDC, Phillips clerked in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York and served as a Progressive Talent Pipeline Fellow on the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee. Phillips earned her JD magna cum laude, Order of the Coif, from Georgetown University Law Center. While in law school, Phillips was a public interest law fellow and worked to advance climate and environmental justice at a number of public interest organizations. Phillips holds a bachelor’s degree from Yale University and a master’s degree from CUNY Hunter College. She is based in NRDC’s New York City office.
