Tom Zimpleman
Tom Zimpleman's work has focused on protecting communities from pollution, expanding the availability of clean energy, and defending the integrity of the scientific information used by federal agencies. He has served as counsel for NRDC on cases arising under the Clean Water Act, the Clean Air Act, the Administrative Procedure Act, the Safe Drinking Water Act, the Toxic Substances Control Act, and the Federal Power Act. Prior to joining NRDC, Zimpleman worked in the Civil Division and the Criminal Division of the U.S. Department of Justice. He has a bachelor's degree in philosophy from University of Chicago and a JD from Stanford University. After law school, he clerked for Judge Joel M. Flaum of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. He is based in NRDC's Washington, D.C., office.
