Julia Forgie

Julia Forgie has worked on environmental and administrative law cases in federal and state court involving climate change, air and water quality, CEQA and NEPA, and environmental justice. Prior to joining NRDC, Forgie represented California state agencies as a deputy attorney general at the California attorney general’s office and served as an Emmett Fellow in environment and resources at UCLA Law’s Emmett Institute on Climate Change and the Environment. She also clerked for Judge Richard R. Clifton on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit in Honolulu, Hawaii. Forgie holds a bachelor’s degree in environmental science and public policy from Harvard University, a master’s degree in environment and resources from Stanford University, and a JD from Stanford Law School, where she served as executive editor of the Stanford Law Review. She is based in NRDC’s Santa Monica office.
